Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

As of right now commissions are permanently closed.

Sorry if you didn't make it onto my waiting list, but I just can't keep up with orders & I'm so burn out on commissions that it's killing me.

If I've talked to you in the past month or so about doing something please contact me ASAP & I'll be sure to make sure I have your info down & will try to get to you in the next month or so.  Sorry & not to be rude but I don't have time to go though all my e-mails & make sure everyone still wants something, so again sorry if you miss the journal.  But I went though all the e-mails before, contacting people to see if they still wanted a commission & it took more than 2 days & some people where super rude LOL.
So if you want something YOU HAVE TO LET ME KNOW, but again only if you've talked to me before, this is NOT for new commissions.

This is the last time I will be posting this & as of right now the last time I will be doing commissions work for ANYTHING. I'm going to be taking down my price list & points commission info so please don't ask for a price list.

Why am I doing this?
So many reasons:
1.) Like I said I'm burn out on commissions.  I have so many original ideas I want to make but I can't because I'm too busy working on other things.  I have tons of started unfinished projects.
2.) I have a big opportunity coming up (I don't want to say what it is until I know it's going to happen) & so this looks like it's going to be taking a lot of my time.
3.)I'm tired of making the same thing over & over again.  Now I know until you get established as an artist that is something you have to do a lot of the times but I feel like my style is getting lost.

What will I be working on?
Mostly my soft sculptures, and a combination or clay & needle felting works.  No more time for other things it looks like.
