I just thought it would be fun to show my improvement/progress in 3 years on needle felting.
The little lovebird done in 2007 was one of the first things that I made, after 2 dragons & a dog lol. So if I'm remembering right it was the 4th needle felted thing I ever made.
The one in 2010 was the first with clay parts which I think I'll be doing more of in the future. Now I just need to make a lovebird this year so I can see how I've improved from 2010 to now ^_^
Thanks! Yeah paperclay is a good idea, I got some but I think it was already dried up because it just crumbled & fell a part I'm going to try La Doll air dry clay & see if it's any lighter than polymer. I found the resin sculpt was very heavy but for the birds feet it gave a nice base, so the weight was good.
I've never heard of La Doll Air Dry! I like to sculpt with the "magic sculpt" resin too (but paper clay is so much lighter) & I agree with the heavy base idea. Never thought of that, THANKS!
Yeah its great stuff, once it's dry it can be carved, and sanded. It's almost like porcelain once it's dried. I still need to buy some paper clay that's not old lol & give it a try
I've been playing around with Paperclay parts in my needle felting. I like the Paperclay because it's lighter than, say, polymer clay.
Beautiful!!
Thanks again!
